Let's Letterpress!

I am also taking Advanced Letterpress this semester, which is really cool because you get a more hands-on experience with it. I designed this set of cards that give friendly monsters tips on how to scare people. They are fun and colorful.
I am very pleased with the results, and it's a fun project to add to my portfolio.

The illustrations are all vectored and started off with sketches. The set contains 9 tip cards and 1 cover card.
I had a lot of fun making my characters and I think they show a less scary side to monsters.

I started letterpressing my cards yesterday. Because of the variety of colors, I had to hand ink different colors onto the polymer plate and then run over multiple test sheets to make sure it was as tightly aligned as possible. Here are some process pictures:

Just the line work

Now I have to pick my best ones from a number of sheets, cut them up and assemble my box. I really like the offset outline colors even though my original intention was to have the same color stroke as the inkjet. Stay tuned for the final pictures!
